The season starts tonight. Game 1. Clean sheet. Puck drop. The beginning. Soon, the storylines that dominated preseason will be a distant memory. Soon, we won't have to worry about how it all fits under the cap because we'll see it in action. Soon enough, we'll be worrying about deadline day and after that, the playoffs. If we're very lucky, we might have a few months of playoffs. And then it'll be right back to the draft, everyone a year older, another long august with which to amuse ourselves.
But none of that happens tonight. Tonight, anything can happen. Tonight, Rene Rancourt will serenade in a brand new season of Bruins hockey. They say that the number 6 doesn't stick around for long in Black and Gold. Maybe this year, we can put another 7 in the rafters.
But I get ahead of myself. We've got a game tonight. A real, live, meaningful game of NHL hockey.
And I couldn't be more excited.
What's on tap, y'all?
