Bruins 4, Devils 2: All about that 5-game win streak

Love you Jagr, but no.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

This recap was originally just going to be the Seth Griffith game-winning highlight reel goal gif over and over and over again, but no. Let's look at some other stuff, too.

The Devils opened it up quickly with Travis Zajac catching Tuukka Rask by surprise less than two minutes into the game, but the Bruins responded with two before the period ended; one a power play goal from Carl Soderberg (CARL ALWAYS CARL) and one from Patrice Bergeron. The Devils went over 13 minutes without a shot on goal in the latter part of the first period.

In the second, Jaromir Jagr tied it up a little over halfway into the period, but Seth Griffith's beauty pulled the Bruins ahead, and Reilly Smith added some insurance. The Bruins sat on their heels a bit in the third and the Devils made a big push towards the end of the game, but Tuukka Rask was invaluable in keeping the puck out of the net. There were two questionable diving calls in this game - one on Smith and one on Marchand - but eh, who cares, we won. Patrice Bergeron had a three point night.

BEHOLD: FANCY STATS!

Okay time for gifs.

Carl!!!!1

Patrice got the second goal of the night, a nice one:

Seth Griffith, this is just absolutely filthy.

Reilly Smith, getting things done.

On to Toronto on Wednesday!
