Game Notes:

  • Apparently the theme of this season is beating below-average teams in OT. "A win is a win" is unacceptable and downright untrue. It's hard to be excited about an overtime win against the Panthers, a team that has scored only 15 non-shootout goals all season. I was excited about the game-winner, a classic Marchand dangle. He has stepped up in replacement of David Krejci. Would a blowout against the Oilers really be too much to ask?
  • Former Bruins defenseman and certified Bro Andrew Ference will not be playing tonight, he's serving the second game of a three-game suspension for an illegal check to the head of Canucks forward Zack Kassian.
  • David Krejci, Torey Krug, and Kevan Miller skated before practice Wednesday. Claude Julien said Krejci is making "progress," but he is still unsure if Krejci will play tonight.

Last Game in Fancy Stats:

"There's room for improvement," said Claude Julien. A room? More like a mansion.
