  • Joe Haggerty posted the final word in a sleepy blur in the wee, wee hours of this morning. [CSNNE] and the Twitterverse howled. [@PeteBlackburn] Then Deadspin got hold of it. [Deadspin]

Elsewhere around the rink:

  • Marc-Andre Fleury is not too big a star to thank his friend. [Grantland]
  • Elliotte Friedman offers his thirty thoughts. [CBCSports]
  • Although he, himself is not in the Hockey Hall of Fame, his well-worn sweater is, and here's why. [TheColorOfHockey]
  • A gallery of injured game faces, players and officials both, that demonstrate the price paid on ice sometimes. (Not for the fainthearted, likely *NSFW*) [SportsIllustrated]
  • Former goalies are at a premium, apparently. Now Ron Hextall has been named the Flyers' GM. [PuckDaddy]
  • Shhhh! Five great ways to cheat at hockey. [TheScore]
