By now, most of you know the unfortunate news that broke last night: Robin Williams has passed from this world at the age of 63. If this is the first you're hearing about it, I am so sorry. It's too early for that sort of bad news.
I'd like to take a quick minute to talk about how this happened. According to his family, Robin was suffering from deep depression at the end of his life, and took his own life. Depression is a motherfucker of a disease. It lies to you constantly, telling you you're not good enough, you never will be, and to give up. It's an insidious disease.
And that's what it is - a disease. Its not a failure or a weakness or your fault. If you think you might be suffering from depression, seek help. Ideally, a pro. But anyone, really. I did years ago and it has probably saved my life. It won't be a burden on who you reach out to.
Remember, you are loved.
