Player We Love - Seth Jones
The 4th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and son of NBA legend Popeye Jones, young Seth is proving, at the tender age of 19, that he's going to be around for a while.
Jones suited up for Team USA in the 2014 IIHF World Championship and I'd post some Corsi and fancy stats here but ExtraSkater is now employed by the Maple Leafs, so uh, I guess this sentence is over now.
He does have some serious skill though, and posting 25 points during his rookie campaign does, theoretically, indicate something special is brewing in Nashville. That being said, however, he's still not Svedberg good. I don't think many are.
However, he is Kazakhstan good. (He scored twice in this game, including the OT game-winner!) Also, how the hell did the U.S. only beat Kazakhstan 4-3? What the hell was going on fellas?!?!?!?!?
Player We Hate - Whatever This Thing Is
I'm aware James Neal is on the Predators, but I just wanted to get Ribeiro out of the way this year. He's on a 1-year deal and I doubt he'll return to Smashville due to either salary cap issues if he has a somewhat decent year, or he'll burn some more bridges and be heading to yet another team. I'll trash Neal next year, I guess is what I'm trying to say here.
