So, recently I've been thinking about "Bruins Hockey" and the mantras that the front office keeps repeating about how it's important to keep their identity and so forth. I wasn't so sure, so I threw together a nice, non-scientific spreadsheet to see just how often the Bruins won the cup. My methodology was simple: Cups won/Years in existence. I almost included the defunct teams from bygone eras, but decided it was frivolous. The Montreal Maroons had a better rate than the Bruins, but it was a totally different era.

As I mentioned above, it was a totally different era back then. So, I've decided to do the same table, but limit it to just the post-original-6 era. Sorry, Toronto. It's not your fault. Here's the table with just those years since expansion started. I'll be honest, I was a little shocked by my findings about how successful Bruins Hockey really was:

So there you have it. Bruins Hockey: The 6th-best kind of post-expansion hockey there is! We are, however, champs at losing the cup. Nobody else comes close. 13 Stanley Cup Final losses all-time, 6 since expansion started. Say it with me now: fuck Montreal.
