According to http://t.co/Rus226kwMq, Joe Morrow has been placed on IR and Tommy Cross has been called up to replace him.

Apparently Joe Morrow had flu-like symptoms and missed practice today. With a road trip coming up and Morrow potentially unable to travel, Tommy Cross should remain the seventh defenseman and we should see Zach Trotman finally get some ice time. Cross has been in the Bruins' system for several years now after a successful career at Boston College; this is his fifth professional season. Last year with Providence he had four goals and 18 assists, good for second on the team among defensemen.
The Bruins play against the Avalanche in Denver and the Coyotes in Arizona this week, so hopefully - hopefully - Cross is just insurance in case someone gets hurt. Then again, Adam McQuaid did miss time during the game on Monday afternoon.
Basically: the defense is very, very broken and everything is terrible.
