First round pick Jake Debrusk named to Team WHL, will play Russia in November

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

First round pick Jake Debrusk is showing his worth by being picked by the WHL for Team WHL. Team WHL will face a Russian junior all-star team in two games:

  • Game 1: Monday, November 9th in Kelowna, BC
  • Game 2: Tuesday, November 10th in Kamloops, BC
  • Kamloops, BC, is of course the home of the good Doctor Mark Recchi. The Russian Juniors will play 4 more games: 2 against Team OHL and 2 against Team QMJHL. Team OHL has not yet named their roster. Zachary Senyshyn is the only Bruins prospect in the OHL this season. If named to the team, he will play the Russians with the OHL:

  • Game 3: November 12 in Owen Sound, ON
  • Game 4: November 16 in Windsor, ON
  • Second round pick Jeremy Lauzon will play for Team QMJHL against Russia:

  • Game 5: Tuesday, November 17 at Rouyn-Noranda
  • Game 6: Thursday, November 19 at Halifax
  • Russia has yet to announce a roster, but the Bruins only have Max Chudinov in the KHL so I'm guessing they don't have anyone on that team. We'll be sure to update you as we learn more.
