We started off #PebbenDay and were informed that there was something missing: PJ's big shootout goal against Chicago:

So let's get to it
What happened
The Bruins were playing Chicago on November 12th, 2008. They had come to a tie after each side had scored a captain's PP goal - one for Chara, one for Toews. The overtime didn't solve it, so they teams went to the then-relatively-new shootout. Here's how the first 5 rounds went:
1 | CHI | Jonathan Toews unsuccessful attempt versus Tim Thomas |
2 | BOS | Blake Wheeler successful attempt versus Nikolai Khabibulin |
3 | CHI | Patrick Kane successful attempt versus Tim Thomas |
4 | BOS | Phil Kessel unsuccessful attempt versus Nikolai Khabibulin |
5 | CHI | Dave Bolland unsuccessful attempt versus Tim Thomas |
Which left it to the third Boston shooter. With no previous successful shootout attempts, and the game on his stick, P.J. Axelsson skated it in and roofed it with a nifty backhand, shocking everyone and winning the game. It was the first shootout win of the 2008-09 season.
