Meh. Feh. Bleah.

Soooo...last night's game? Moving on!

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

A look at the gong show that was the Bruins game last night:

  • We knew, headed into this season, that the Bruins defense left much to be desired. A couple of defensive miscues cost the Bruins two points last night. [Boston Globe]
  • It's frustrating seeing the Bruins constantly draw first blood and have the top-ranked power play in the NHL, only to find new ways to squander those leads. [NESN]
  • The Bruins are an enigma (who need to start finding ways to win, win.) [Bruins Daily]
  • The Bruins are very fortunate Gabriel Landeskog's hit on Brad Marchand did very little damage. As an aside, while Landeskog should expect to hear from the NHL about the hit, word is that Marchand may hear from them for the punch he threw at Landeskog, as well. [WEEI]
  • Of course Claude Julien sees nothing wrong with low-scoring hockey games. [Puck Daddy]

Elsewhere Around the League...

  • Once again, a coach's challenge denied Alex Ovechkin the chance to become the NHL's highest-scoring Russian-born player ever. [The Score]
  • Some pretty big names in this article asking whose slows starts to their season are actually more like permanent declines. Good news for Tuukka Rask here, bad news for my fantasy teams who are loaded with most of these players. [ESPN]
  • Mike Richards has been seen skating with his former junior league team, the Kitchener Rangers, and is hoping to make a comeback to the NHL soon. [Sports Illustrated]
