2016 NHL Winter Classic: A look back at the best alumni highlights

With the Bruins' Winter Classic Alumni Game roster released yesterday, take a look back at some of the highlights of these stars of yesteryear.

The Bruins released their roster for the 2016 Winter Classic Alumni Game yesterday, and boy, are there some throwbacks on there. Samsonov! Raycroft! A whole bunch of Sweeneys!

In the interest of nostalgia, here are some highlights from some of the guys on the list.

PJ Axelsson

Pebben! We already did a whole bunch of PJ Axelsson appreciation posts, but here's him beating the Blackhawks in a shootout.

Bob Beers

Beers was a good player for the Bruins for a few years, but there aren't many highlights from that era online. Instead, many know Beers as the great color guy for the Bruins' radio broadcasts. Here's one of his best moments.

Ray Bourque

He was here for over two decades, so there are a lot of highlights.

Reggie Lemelin

GTFO, Pat Verbeek.

Ken Linseman

The original Rat!

Rick Middleton

A Channel 38 (!!) highlight reel with a groovy sound. Nifty, indeed.

Cam Neely

Recent history aside, Neely was beloved in Boston for a reason: he was very, very good.

Terry O'Reilly

Happy Gilmore's favorite player!

Andrew Raycroft

(That's a little unfair, but there are no highlights from Raycroft's Bruins years on YouTube. Truthfully, Raycroft was great for the Bruins briefly, but what he brought back is really what made the biggest impact on the franchise.)

Mark Recchi

He was barely here two season, but left quite a mark (HA!).

Sergei Samsonov

It's weird how hard it is to find Samsonov Bruins highlights. He was electric in his first few years here. There are some B's moments at the beginning of this video.

Marco Sturm

Come on, you knew what this would be. Might as well watch the whole highlights package!

Don Sweeney

He once scored a goal at Fenway Park, so that's cool.

Glen Wesley

Old Garden. Bruins vs. Habs. Big game. Big goal.
