The Bruins held Florida to 6 shots on goal despite a few close scoring chances. Boston had 10 shots on goal, including Ryan Spooner's deflection to put the Bruins on top.
The Bs had the better scoring chances, including some great shots by Brett Connolly and Matt Beleskey. Florida had about a half-dozen shots that bounced off the end boards into Rask's glove, or else they'd probably lead in shots. But both teams had a handful of close calls.
Hayes also left the bench toward the end of the period after a Shawn Thornton shoulder to the face, which impressive since Hayes is 6'6" and Thornton is 6'2". But apparently NESN called it a "good non-call." *shrug* So far, hidden gem Landon Ferraro has been skating with Spooner and Vatrano in Hayes' place, which I really like.
20 down, 40 to go! Let's grab the water bottle by the horns and SPRAY THOSE CATS.
