Probable lines for Bruins vs. Penguins

New, comments

No morning skate, but let's give it a shot anyways.

The Bruins didn't have a morning skate today, so these lines are mostly speculation. Per the Bruins' Twitter account, here's who skated this morning:

Jimmy Hayes, Patrice Bergeron, Frank Vatrano, Alex Khokhlachev, David Pastrnak, Maxime Talbot, Tyler Randell, Zach Trotman, Zdeno Chara, Joe Morrow, Colin Miller, Kevan Miller

What does that tell us? NOTHING! Really, there are only a few decisions to be made on the lineups. With Zac Rinaldo out, either Tyler Randell or Alex Khokhlachev draws in. It's possible that Claude Julien could use a healthy scratch on a Talbot, Hayes or Brett Connolly, but fairly unlikely. The top-9 should remain the same as it was at the end of Monday night's loss.

Here's your probable line-up up front, via Daily Faceoff:

On defense, things are a little more up in the air. Does the Morrow-K. Miller-Trotman revolving door keep spinning? For the sake of argument, let's assume things stay the same. Tuukka Rask will be in goal.

The only wrinkle: does Alex Khokhlachev play? If he does, he could be anywhere in the bottom-6:

  • Play Khokhlachev as the fourth-line center, between Talbot and Ferraro
  • Play Khokhlachev as the fourth-line wing, with Talbot and Ferraro
  • Play Khokhlachev as the third-line right wing, and bump Hayes down to the fourth

The possibilities are endless!

On the other side, the only real question was in goal, and it's already been answered:

So, what do you think? Should Khokhlachev draw in? Who sits?
