Yesterday, the trades kept on rolling. Jagr went to Florida, for one. But the trade I'm less excited about is David Clarkson for Nathan Horton.
The trade only made sense because Horton's contract was not insured against injury, so Columbus had to keep paying him real dollars even though he's not playing. So, they called up Toronto and got the worst contract in all of the NHL instead. Pretty incredible, really.
I gotta think this is the new standard for 'anyone can get traded'. No longer 'Gretzky got traded' but 'Clarkson's contract got traded'.

What does that mean for us? It means Toronto is just that much closer to digging themselves out of a hole and into competency. And if you thought you heard too much about then when they're the laughingstock of the league, imagine what it'll be like if they're good. Not a pretty sight, I know.
