Is Brett Connolly underrated?

He's fifth on our Top 25 under 25. Vote for number 6 here!

Brett Connolly is relatively new to us in Boston. Right after he arrived, he was out with a broken hand due to an unfortunate run in with an ancient boat anchor. However, he's been in the NHL since the 2011-12 season. In that time, he's played 139 games, which puts him well on his way to the 160 games that would get him an NHLPA pension.

So is he any good? Well, corsi-wise he's showed improvement each year in the league, with this most recent one being the best:

Yes, the goal differential is not as good, but the shot data certainly is. Hopefully, as he'll only be 23 this year, that can continue. I don't know if I'd slot him onto the top line just yet, but he seems like one of those guys that can be useful to the Bruins. And he's better than the guy who's just there to keep Zac Rinaldo off the roster.

Anyways, here he is sniping one on Henrik Lundqvist:
