When Zach Senyshyn was drafted, I said this:

Don Sweeney better hope he pans out. Otherwise, he's taken the franchise out back and put a bullet in it tonight.

We've all apparently been doing a good job of drinking the Sweeney Kool-Aid this summer, because y'all have voted this year's 15th overall pick Zach Senyshyn the 9th-best player or prospect in the Bruins organization.  Last year, among players in their draft year in the OHL, he came in 11th in points per game. Which is decent enough, especially as he was further down the depth chart - Senyshyn was 10th on his team in even strength Time On Ice among forwards.

That puts him on the 4th line, pretty much. And scoring at an appropriate rate for that amount of ice time. His team was quite good - 4th in estimated fenwick close, per CHLstats.com. Senyshyn doesn't totally dazzle, but there's promise there. But then, there's always promise with first round draft picks, even the ones projected to go in the second round.

As long as he's better than Mathew Barzal, Don Sweeney's gamble will have paid off.
