First- coaching and personnel moves. Now they're revamping systems.

  • Settling the roster should NOT be the Bruins priority at camp. Here's what should be the focus, and why the new guys will be on an even footing with the veterans, at least to start...  [TheBostonGlobe]

  • But don't kid yourselves, the roster will be firmed up over the next week or so.  [TheBostonGlobe]

  • Look answers to these five burning questions about training camp.  [BostonHerald]

  • And what would the season be without storylines? Start with these five, including the thrifty solution to the backup goalie issue.  [HockeyBuzz]

  • The Bruins only have one player on a PTO (Jonas Gustavsson) while there are a number of available pros without contracts that might be of interest. What does that mean?  [HockeyBuzz] Note: Lee Stempniak just signed a PTO with the Devils.  [NBCSports]

  • This training camp arrives with a lot more positions up in the air than previous years, maybe since as long ago as 2007, and notably, the power play units will need to be restaffed.  [PatriotLedger]

  • David Krejci wasthisclose to having surgery this off-season (he had injured his knee and has rumored hip or groin issues) but recovered with rest. He did confess to browsing about hockey on the web. (Google translation from Czech)  [SportovniNoviny]

  • Reference this schedule (with information on parking) for the State of the Bruins meeting tonight, along with an overview of what to look for as camp opens. Bonus: Roster and camp schedule.  [SouthCoastToday]

Elsewhere around the rink:

  • Because he hates drones, that's why. Steven Stamkos unloads on a few... moving targets.  [RawCharge]

  • Speaking of Tampa Bay, note that Amalie Arena will now be serving poutines and wine! And the folks at Raw Charge are rubbing it in.  [AmalieArena]

  • Slava Voynov will save his team and the league aggravation by voluntarily returning home to Russia.  [JewelsFromTheCrown]

  • Elliotte Friedman opens the season with his first Thirty Thoughts. Number eleven hurts my heart. Number twelve is intriguing.  [SportsNet]

  • Got mashups? What if the Red Sox logo and Bruins logo had a baby? Or the Celtics and Patriots?  [BarDown]

  • The NHL plans to "preview" 3-on-3 overtime for fans during the preseason.  [WingingItInMotown]

  • Now that we have Tuukka Rask AND Joonas Kemppainen , can we expect this kind of nuttiness? Visit behind the scenes at this Finnish rink- and do play the audio, it transcends language.  (Video, 2:30)  [YouTube]

  • Retired players have a dog in the NHL concussion fight, and many fear retaliation in their new careers around the league as the suit progresses.  [GlobeAndMail]
