PUBLIC SKATE- Bruins v. Blue Jackets 1st Period

He's baaaaaaaaack

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

If you're a resident of Boston, you're breathing a sigh of relief for one or both of these reasons: we're only supposed to get 5-8 inches of snow at most, and/or we're playing the Columbus Blue Jackets. Luckily, 'Lumbus brought us some Soup to keep us warm!

Matt Beleskey needed some soup, too, as he wasn't feeling well yesterday and was sent home from skate. But he returned for optional skate this morning!

Let's hope he had an IV of tomato soup and all nine seasons of X-Files queued up to feel better ASAP.

Unfortunately, the Blue Jackets did not bring along my favorite member of the team. Yes, head coach John Tortorella did not travel with the team due to...injury sustained on the ice?

Speaking of injuries (or lack thereof), all the defencemen skated!!! I REPEAT: ALL defenceman skated!! For Columbus, goalie Joonas Korpisalo is in net to replace the injured Officer Sergei Bobrovsky. Tuukka was not on the ice for optional, so most likely, he's in net for the B's.

However you're keeping warm during the mini-snowstorm outside tonight, I think we can all agree that a Bruins win will be the only thing needed to give us that warm, cozy feeling that not even a nice bowl of chicken noodle soup could match.

ETA: Gustavsson in net, not Tuukka. JOONAS VS JONAS (vs. Jonas) COMING YOUR WAY!
