It was a productive month for two of the Bruins top prospects in the minor leagues. As previously noted in his call up, Seth Griffith has been leading the team in Rhode Island in points like nobody's business, contributing more than half of the Providence offense. And now, he's been recognized for his impressive league leading 17 points in 11 games with being named the AHL player of the month for December. He's now firmly in sixth place in scoring in the AHL.
And that's not all, Koko has definitely felt some frustration in the past few months, encapsulated by being on the ice for less time than Zac Rinaldo during the Winter Classic. After being sent down, he let it all out on the unsuspecting Rochester Americans and Springfield Falcons with 3 goals and 3 assists across the two games. He's now tied for 9th overall for scoring in the AHL.
In recognition of their skill, the AHL will be rewarding their play with a crystal plaque for both of them in an upcoming home game, presumably the one against Bridgeport on Friday. So if you're interested in going to a P-Bruins game in the near future, you probably have a nice ceremony to look forward to!
