WHERE TO BEGIN:
The last time the Bruins played the Senators I spent 40 minutes looking for a parking spot, yelled a Turkish man for almost running me over with his car and Jimmy Hayes netted a hat trick. A 7-3 victory, capped off by a somewhat line-brawl and a Zac Rinaldo standing ovation, sent the Bruins into the Winter Classic on a high note. Although, that didn't last long, as the B's laid a gigantic goose egg on their highly anticipated national showcase.
On the back-end of a back-to-back, Tuukka Rask will tend goal after Jonas Gustavasson miraculously allowed just a single game despite impersonating an LL Bean sleeping bag in Newark last night. The Bruins will look to pick up 2 points in Ottawa, widening the gap between the 4th place B's and Tampa Bay and Ottawa, who sit in a tie for fifth at 44 points a piece. Boston trails second place Detroit and Montreal by 3 points -- with 2 and 3 games in-hand, respectively.
GAME NOTES:
- Brad Marchand returns from a three-game suspension. Ironically, it is against the team in which he received the suspension. I covered that game and am covering this one as well. Jesus Christ he'll probably murder someone tonight. What have I done?
- Jonas Gustavsson (7-3-1, .909) will be riding the pine and that is good news for both myself and my cardiologist.
- Jimmy Hayes is streaking. Mr Hayes' Large Adult Son has 4 goals and 1 assist in his last 4 games.
- NESN will undoubtedly throw shade at Erik Karlsson at some point.
NEVER FORGET:
