Bruins Prospects: Three Stars of the Week

I'm trying something new for this year's coverage of prospects. Rather than run down each player's week, I'll highlight the three players that stood out from the rest of the pack for me. Each of those players will be awarded points for their performance (5 for 1st place, 3 for 2nd place and 1 for 3rd place) and we'll see how the prospects stack up throughout the year.

Week of October 3 - 9

First Star (5 points)
Anders Bjork - Notre Dame (NCAA)
This Week: 2 games played - 4 goals - 3 assists - 13 shots

Bjork and Notre Dame torched Arizona State by a combined score of 13-4. He had two goals (including the game winner) in each contest.

Second Star (3 points)
Jesse Gabrielle - Prince George (WHL)
This Week: 2 games played - 3 goals - 2 assists

Gabrielle picked up right where he left off from his prolific draft+1 season with a five point opening week. All but one of his points, a shorthanded goal in the season opener, came on the power play.

Third Star (1 point)
Jakub Zboril - St. John (QMJHL)
This week: 3 games played - 1 goal - 3 assists - 14 shots

After a disappointing draft+1 season, Zboril opened the '16-'17 season with a 1-3-4 line and 10 shots on goal. To give a little more context, Zboril put up 20 percent of last season's point total in the season opener.

Season Total (1 Week)
  1. Bjork - 5 points
  2. Gabrielle - 3 points
  3. Zboril - 1 point
