Austin Czarnik, a healthy scratch Monday night in Wininpeg, has been assigned to the Providence Bruins, opening up a roster spot for the eventual return of defenseman Adam McQuaid.

Ryan Spooner rotated with wings on the Krejci/Moore lines, but its looking more and more like the 24-year-old will be watching tonight from the press box. The powerplay specialist has struggled defensively to open the year and, if it were to occur, a scratching or two will hope to serve as a wakeup call for the still young and developing forward.

Home Depot (Backes) slides from the 1C position to 2RW next to David Krejci. With the skilled Danton Heinen to their left, that line will be worth keeping an eye on tonight.

McQuaid has yet to be activated from IR, so it’s looking like his season debut could be pushed back another night. Joe Morrow appears to slide into the B’s lineup tonight, playing alongside Torey Krug.

Tuukka Rask (2-0-0, .939 SV%) gets the nod in goal tonight.
