It’s contagious, and it’s going around in Boston

Never mind New York, on to Detroit for Saturday night!

  • This is not the team you seek... but they are 3-4 so far on the season. The glaring injury (and subsequent goaltending) problems are not the root problem. Scouting Post
  • Thus far, the newer, faster Bruins are not competitive with the better teams in the conference. Still, the Bruins and Zane McIntyre, in his NHL debut, managed a solid first half. Austin Czarnik notched his first NHL goal. The Boston Globe

  • In fact, the Bruins goaltending situation hearkens back to a record set by the Islanders in 2010. The Score
  • But it was 2-0! And the Bruins drew first blood for the first time this season. Then they racked up six (!) unanswered penalties. Boston Herald

  • In a perfect world, the Bruins and their subpar roster would be healthy and be doing just fine. Once injuries set in, though, all bets are off. WEEI
