Bruins end their losing streak with a shutout win over Detroit

Tuukka Rask was back. This was a good thing.

The Bruins won! HOORAY!

The B’s ended their losing streak with a reassuring (though we won’t get ahead of ourselves) 1-0 shutout of the Red Wings in Detroit.

The win marked the return of Tuukka Rask, who made 24 saves to take a bit of weight off the Bruins’ shoulders.

Tim Schaller, part of what’s been a quietly efficient fourth line for the Bruins, scored the night’s lone goal after a Dominic Moore feed led to a sharp-angle shot that beat Wings G Jimmy Howard.

The goal would be challenged by the Detroit coaching staff, but held up after video review. Chances are, had that one been overturned, the Bruins would have then fallen apart and given up 323 goals.

NOT THIS TIME.

Other notable incidents included Steve Ott continuing to be garbage:

There he is! Brave Steve!

...and Tuukka Rask doing Tuukka Rask things:

Another notable happening: Young Brandon Carlo led the entire Bruins team in TOI, playing 23:09, including 3:05 shorthanded.

Next up for the Bruins: a visit to Sunrise for a 7:30 match-up with JAGR and the Panthers on Tuesday night.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
