PREVIEW: Boston Bruins vs. New York Rangers 11/5/16 - Bruins meet a good challenge in NYR

The (literally) age-old Original Six rivalry returns!

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

The Basics:

THE TIME: 7pm EST

THE PLACE: TD Garden, Boston, MA

WHERE TO WATCH: NESN, NHL Network-US (...via the NESN feed so JACK EDWARDS NO MATTER WHAT)

WHERE TO LISTEN: 98.5 The Sports Hub

The Game Notes:

  • NYR has been riding high as one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference, 2nd in the entire conference with an 8-3-0 start.
  • The last time the Bruins met the Rangers was a bit of a beatdown, but that wasn't with Rask. Rask has been VERY good this year, 6-0-0 in starts, with a .951 SV%, and currently third among starters in the NHL.
  • Bratrice + Pasta remains a beautiful thing to behold. On Thursday every player on the line contributed to a goal, and Pasta continues his goal-scoring dominance. He leads the team with 6, and Brad Marchand leads the team in points with 12.
  • Ryan Spooner tallied again on the Power play against TBL. Both of his goals this year came on the power play.
  • The secondary scoring still might need to get better at some point. Several players without goals, many of whom paid quite a bit of money
  • David Backes. Coming back maybe? Stay tuned...
  • As previously discussed, the Bruins really should stop taking penalties.
