  • It’s Pastrnak! It’s Crosby! It’s the NHL on NBCSN! When the TV people scheduled this game for a national broadcast, they probably weren’t thinking "leading scorers go head to head," but here we are. Sidney Crosby is first in the league with 21 goals, while Yung Dave is second in the league with 18.
  • Speaking of Crosby, he is Good At Hockey. Crosby has 32 points in 23 (!) games. He’s got goals in four games in a row and ten goals in his last ten games. This should be fun tonight.
  • The Penguins are third in the league standings, a point behind Montreal and Chicago, who are tied at 42 points apiece. The Pens are 8-2-0 in their last ten, and are 12-2-1 at home this year. Again, this should be fun.
  • This is a non-story, but tonight David Backes can get his revenge on Phil Kessel for his Very Disrespectful Tweet.
  • It will be interesting to see what the Bruins do with their lineup tonight. Truthfully, they played a good game in Montreal on Monday night, aside from the defensive shell phase in the third. I’d argue Claude should roll that same lineup out there tonight, but he may decide to rotate Danton Heinen in.

Never forget
