Just the Facts:

The Time: 7:30 EST

The Place: PNC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina

The Place to Watch: NESN, FS-Carolina

The Place to Listen: 98.5 The Sports Hub, 99.9 The Fan (Carolina)

The Stakes: Two points. Boston uses them to get ever closer to second place in the Atlantic Division, Carolina uses them to get ever closer to a wildcard spot in the East. In short? Both sides just use it to get better position at going higher in the standings.

Game Notes:

  • Carolina beat Buffalo 3-1 yesterday. They are typically one of those teams that is better than their record suggests and it seems to be the case this year.
  • Frank Vatrano scored on his first game back last night! Hurray!
  • Patrice Bergeron snapped a goalless streak last night on the power play that has been flagging and desperately needing the help.
  • Another good night for Colin Miller possession wise yesterday! As well as Jimmy Hayes. Wow.
  • Torey Krug assisted on two of the three goals last night. He leads defensemen in points by a longshot with 16.
  • Carolina and Boston have only played one game against each other this season, a win for Boston in the Shootout 2-1. Expect this to be a bit low in events like that one was.

Never Forget:

Remember when Carolina had actually GOOD uniforms? Good times...

Also remember Byron Bitz?
