Year-end lists are all the rage. But instead of listing the ten reasons David Pastrnak is the greatest athlete of all time, we decided to put together a list of our most popular (in terms of views) posts of the year.
Obligatory: none of this is possible without you! Thank you to each and every one of our readers for what was one of our best years yet.
For the sake of posting our own unique content, I left out things like trade rumors or rampant speculation. This was limited to original content/opinions.
Now, on to the countdown...
10. David Backes is a Boston Bruin now-and that could mean David Krejci's days in Boston are numbered.
Posted on Free Agency Day, shortly after Backes signed with the Bruins, this piece explored whether or not the Backes deal meant Krejci was on his way out. Obviously not, as he’s still here, but it was a question on many people’s minds that day.
This page covered all of action surrounding the Bruins’ moves at this year’s draft, centering on the selection of Charlie McAvoy. This hub remained pinned on the home page all year, which could explain its popularity.
8. Chowder Down Under: AIHL Decision Time
We had narrowed down our Australian Ice Hockey League rooting options, and left it up to the people to decide.
7. Will the Bruins survive the Central division this year?
This one is a little puzzling, as the Central isn’t really filled with Bruin rivals. However, it offered an in-depth look at a good division.
6. Health and life after hockey both complicated for Marc Savard
Guest poster Scott Wheeler offered a great look at what Marc Savard has been up to since leaving hockey (or, more accurately, having hockey taken from him).
5. The Bruins can still make the playoffs, here's how
Ah, early April. Days of hope, when the Bruins had yet to let us all down (again).
4. How Cap Recapture could wreak havoc on PK Subban for Shea Weber deal
The PK Subban for Shea Weber deal was the talk of the NHL world for weeks. Chris found a unique angle, investigating how a hidden CBA detail could cause trouble down the line.
3. Cam Neely and Don Sweeney hung Claude Julien out to dry
A rebuke of the Bruins’ front office, this piece picked up steam due to the lingering anger at season’s end.
2. The top 20 defensemen in the NHL right now. For real.
John took an analytical look at the best defensemen in the NHL at the time, strictly by the numbers. This piece generated a lot of conversation, probably because it featured names that weren’t commonly considered to be at the top of the list.
1. Can Boston Take A Shot At PK Subban - And Should They?
This piece came about when the Subban trade rumors first began swirling. It was a longshot, but offered a few different options where a Subban trade could have happened.
Thanks again for reading, and have a great New Year!
