Regarding BOS interest in Hamhuis, he has full NTC and isn't likely to want to go east to BOS.

The Bruins are interested in Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis, but that doesn't mean they'll be trading for him. Hamhuis has a no-trade clause and is looking to waive it for a contending team.
I don't believe Hamhuis would waive to go to #Bruins.

Hamhuis said last night that going to a contender was top priority to waive NMC. #Bruins don't fit.

So, yeah, this is currently where the Bruins stand. Dallas saved their bacon by taking Kris Russell off the market, but Sweeney may not be willing to look elsewhere. At the moment, it appears his two options were Russell and Hamhuis. One of them, awful, the other, unavailable. Hopefully the scenario changes in the next hour.
