Enough about the Rangers. Tonight the Bruins host the Panthers at 7:00PM.

  • After the strong play the Bruins were able to muster for the California trip, last night was a bit of a letdown. The results, however, were the same.[TheBostonGlobe]

  • Take five... bullet points from the game. Poor, poor Lee Stempniak couldn't seem to buy a break.[WEEI]

  • Frank Vatrano scored in his first call up since January. It looks like the kid stays in the picture.[TheBostonGlobe]

  • After starting the game, Tuukka Rask was still not feeling well. Jonas Gustavsson took over at the start of the second period. The NHL review process has not been a friend to the Bruins. These games that could be won but are not must begin to take a toll on morale.[ScoutingPost]

  • The biggest question may be who sits as Vatrano makes his case to stick around?[WEEI]

  • Meanwhile, an Alex Khokhlachev snipe won the game for theProvidence Bruins in Hartford last night in overtime.[ProvidenceJournal]

Elsewhere around the rink:

  • Take a look back at five historically long winning streaks in the NHL, and how they finally came to a close. The Canadiens accomplished two of these, and the Bruins, one.[TheHockeyNews]

  • Puppies. Puppies will make us feel better! Yesterday was National Puppy Day, and these photos of NHLers (incuding Torey Krug) and pups will cheer you up.[BarDown]

  • TWO former Bruins made this gallery of "Know Your PeeWee" photos, one still has his winning smile, and the other should have asked his famous sister to pose with him.[BarDown]

  • Is it time for "the annual Vladimir Sobotka watch"? Reilly Smith looks to be a keeper for the Panthers and is wearing an "A." Elliotte Friedman offers his Thirty Thoughts.[Sportsnet]

  • Sean McIndoe has some suggestions to sex up a possible expansion draft. Let's make this interesting, shall we?[Sportsnet]

  • What's the big secret? Why can't we just write down all of "The Code" for the betterment of mankind?[NationalPost]
