So last night was a bit of a nasty bit of business that ended in a bad result that made everybody mad. Including the Bruins who may have more injuries than they've let on, since Seth Griffith and Austin Czarnik have been called to the big boy club:
Bruins announce that they've recalled Seth Griffith and Austin Czarnik from Providence on an emergency basis.— Amalie Benjamin (@AmalieBenjamin) March 30, 2016
Griffith has been on white hot fire all year in Providence, tied for 2nd in all around scoring in the AHL with Leafs prospect TJ Brennan, has been playing at above a point per game and has been the goal scorer of two of the more creative goals in recent Bruins history. Example:
In short, the guy's good.
Czarnik meanwhile is third on the team in scoring behind Khokhlachev and Griffith, with 52 points across 59 games.
One can only speculate who exactly they're filling in for, but the ice time of Brett Connolly last game (to the point where he wasn't playing after a certain point early on) seems to indicate that Griffith will be playing in relief of him.
As for Czarnik, I assume the Eriksson as a center experiment has been blown up. Good.
The Bruins will likely see one if not both of these young talents on Friday as they take on the Blues.
