After a bunch of commotion and making a trade earlier in the mock draft, mock-Sweeney has solidified his secret weapon: back-to-back picks. So here’s the first of them:
With the 28th pick in the SBNation NHL Mock Draft, the Boston Bruins select Jacob Moverare from HV71
You may remember Jacob because we did a profile on him just a short while ago. Here’s the short version:
- He earned a little bit of playing time with the big club in Sweden this year. HV71 made it to the quarterfinals in the SHL this year, then lost to Skelleftea AIK (half of the games they lost were in overtime)
- He’s 6’2” 198 lbs and can move. That always helps.
- He comes from sturdy stock. His grandpa turned 100 years old!
Du är en förebild, inte många som klarar av att leva till den åldern! Grattis på 100 års dagen morfar❤️ pic.twitter.com/ZURXhrUev5

Overall, we think that he shows a lot of promise as a defensive prospect and think he’ll be able to contribute in a year or two.
Don’t forget to come back at noon to see who we took with the 29th overall pick!
