A flurry of qualifying offers were made, and some familiar faces may be moving on.

  • No qualifying offers were tendered to a troika of Bruins, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Brett Connolly, Landon Ferraro, and/or Ben Sexton will not ultimately be re-signed. Nor does an offer received mean that Alex Khokhlachev won’t still sign with a KHL team. The Boston Globe
  • In the case of ageless Connolly, a new contract at a friendlier rate for the Bruins could be the goal. WEEI
  • Or will this be this mean an opening for Chris Kelly? Today’s Slapshot
  • Landon Ferraro as Daniel Paille, lite? A willingness to gamble on re-signing the three players (including a right-shot forward) indicates to Ty Anderson that a rilly, rilly big move may be in the offing. Hockeybuzz
  • Signing Steven Stamkos is not entirely outside the realm of possibility. WEEI

Elsewhere around the rink:

  • Former Bruins in the news: Dear Mark Recchi, maybe next year- With love, the Hockey Hall of Fame. Three cups, no nomination- Sheesh! The Boston Globe Congratulations to Rogie Vachon! Daily News Wade Redden will join the Predators organization in a player development capacity. Today’s Slapshot Joe Colborne was not qualified by the Flames. Sportsnet Brad Stuart will be bought out. Denver Post P.J. Stock and his dapper neckties will not be returning to Rogers’ broadcast booth. Awful Announcing Jaromir Jagr hospitably made lunch for a cameraman posted outside his home- banana for scale. (With video) PuckDaddy

  • Fox Sports cable subscribers- good news! Game streams for in-market viewing will now be made available featuring the 12 teams for which they hold rights. Awful Announcing
