Anton Blidh sent down to Providence

As Boston slowly gets healthier, the scrappy swedish winger returns to Rhode Island

NHL: Preseason-Washington Capitals at Boston Bruins Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Per Mark Divver of The Providence Journal, Anton Blidh has returned to the Providence Bruins after 19 games played.

In the span of said 19 games, he recorded a goal and an assist as a winger for the 4th line, typically playing around 8-10 minutes a night.

His goal came against NYI in a losing effort.

While it’s nice to have a 4th line that isn’t always a hundred percent human garbage, Boston slowly getting healthier, and the unique question of where to put Matt Beleskey with Spooner and Schaller playing wing, made his role unfortunately a bit redundant. He’s been a fairly serviceable player in Providence however, and his possession numbers seem to imply he does well in his limited time so I’m under the impression he’ll be just fine going forward.
