Two roster moves to report on today: one normal, one very weird.
First, the Bruins recalled Danton Heinen from Providence. Heinen played 8 games with the big club last season, going pointless but showing a few decent flashes.
Heinen’s call-up could be related to an unknown injury to a forward, or it could be to rotate him in on the bottom-six.
The next one is odd: the Bruins have apparently added Ryan White on a professional tryout agreement.
Why? Your guess is as good as mine.
White is billed as a gritty fourth-liner, but has never really done much on offense. He played 65 games last year, split between Arizona and Minnesota. He had 16 points in those games, but also had 84 penalty minutes.
It’s unclear what the Bruins are trying to do here. Do they think they lack the toughness they need, or are they just bringing in a veteran to try to spice things up?
No hard feelings?
