Austin Czarnik has been sent to Providence, probably to make room for a familiar face

Adios, Austin.

NHL: Boston Bruins at Calgary Flames Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

The Bruins announced today that Austin Czarnik has been sent back to the Providence Bruins.

Czarnik has one assists in 6 NHL games so far this season.

So, why was he sent down?

Probably to make room for Noel Acciari. Remember him?!

Acciari has been out since the home opener, where he suffered a broken foot from blocking a shot.

He’s been rehabbing in recent days, and is apparently a game-time decision for tomorrow night. However, given that Czarnik has been sent down, it seems likely that at least one of Acciari or Brad Marchand will be ready.

Speaking of Marchand, he’s officially a game-time decision tomorrow as well, though Joe McDonald of the Boston Sports Journal says Marchand suffered a concussion in the Caps game.

We’ll see!
