The stretch run toward the playoffs is probably the worst time to deal with an injury, but it looks like the Bruins might have one on their hands with David Backes.
Backes appeared to toe-pick with the left leg, then fell face-first into the boards. He stayed down for a bit before being helped off the ice favoring his left leg.
As of the time this post was published, he hasn’t returned.
UPDATE: Backes returned after the first TV timeout, and scored to give the Bruins the lead shortly thereafter.
