Bruins Prospects: Three Stars of the Week

Week of March 13 - 19

First Star (5 points)

Ryan Fitzgerald - Boston College (NCAA)

This Week: 2 games played - 3 goals - 10 shots

Fitzgerald’s three goals were not enough to keep Boston College’s trophy hopes alive. The Eagles fell a goal short to Lowell in the Hockey East Tournament final and as a result they found themselves as the first team out for NCAA Tournament selection. Fitzgerald had a nice conference tournament (4-1-5 in four games) but it was a minor redemption for what was a disappointing senior year. After a tremendous junior year (24-23-47 in 40 games), Fitzgerald posted a mere 12-19-31 line in 34 games. The clock is now ticking on signing Fitzgerald.

Second Star (3 points)

Jack Becker - Sioux Falls (USHL)

This Week: 2 games played - 2 goals - 1 assist - 9 shots

Becker scored in both of his games this week bringing his season total to 12 in 42 (he had eight in 58 games last year). The goals were Becker’s first since January 26.

Third Star (1 point)

Ryan Donato - Harvard (NCAA)

This Week: 2 games played - 2 goals - 15 shots

Donato’s tour de force performance (two goals, 10 shots) in the ECAC Tournament final propelled Harvard (and fellow Bruins prospect Wiley Sherman) to victory and a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament. In 33 games Donato has 38 points and 20 goals.
