Yes, that's David Backes missing from the morning skate, and he's thrown a wrench into the lines.

Backes did take that tumble into the boards last week, but played after. It's possible that concussion symptoms appeared late, or that something was aggravated against Edmonton.
Either way, weird stuff. The defense pairs are the same, and expect Tuukka Rask to start.
