A weird stat about Noel Acciari’s first NHL goal

According to QuantHockey, there have been 20 NHL players born in the state of Rhode Island. The most notable name is Bryan Berard, who scored more than 300 points in his NHL career.

Noel Acciari is the only active Rhode Islander in the NHL. He ended a personal drought by scoring his first NHL goal tonight, but he ended a longer drought in the process.

Tom Cavanagh, pride of Warwick, was playing for the San Jose Sharks in 2009, when he scored the only goal of his NHL career...
