The pre-reveal jersey leaks continued today, with the Bruins (and several other teams) giving another small peak at their new Adidas looks ahead of Tuesday’s unveiling.
Here we are:
OK, so maybe the “whoa” was a little sarcastic.
But unlike the first leak, this one actually reveals a pretty significant change: the Bruins are changing the player name (and, presumably, number) font on their jerseys.
Where’s the change?
If you’re still puzzled, here are the current letters:
The eagle-eyed among us notice that the interior black line on the numbers/letters is gone.
The interesting part is that it looks like the Bruins are re-using the lettering format from their now-retired Reebok third jerseys:
If you look super closely, you’ll notice that the “R” in Bruins from the leak is the same as the “R” in Rask from the jersey above:
OK, so that’s kind of a big deal. The other portion revealed in the leak (the Adidas logo) doesn’t really reveal any changes, so we’re only left with the lettering.
Basically, it looks like they’re taking the styling from the old third jersey and sticking it on the current design. What would that look like?
Again, this is assuming that what we see in the leak is done to the entire jersey.
In all likelihood there will be a few small tweaks to the styling, but this could be what we’re looking at.
I also feel like if this is the route they’re going with the numbers and letters, we may see some changes to the stripes at the bottom of the jersey as well.
The wild card here is that if this is the look, we don’t know what they’re going to do to the away jersey. You can’t have a white outline on a white jersey, meaning they’d probably go with a black outline around the yellow letters.
We’ll see in a few days.
If this is the new look, what do you think?
What do you think of this new look?

Can the Bruins just extend Pastrnak already?
