The saga is FINALLY over. After an entire offseason of waiting, dreading, criticizing, and shaking with overall anxiety, David Pastrnak is a Bruin once again.
Pastrnak extension with Bruins is complete. 6 years, $40 million. $6.6667 aav.

The AAV is clearly a win for the Bruins salary cap, when rumors flew of Pastrnak’s camp asking as high as $8 million a year. The term is just long enough to not feel like a bridge deal for either side too. Stay tuned here for more detailed analysis, but for now, take this as a sweet win and enjoy having Pasta back on the team. As training camp opens today, don't expect Pastrnak to join the team until at least this weekend. Without a deal until now, it was reported he wouldn't leave the Czech Republic until a contact was successfully negotiated.
David Pastrnak remains in the Czech Republic so it's unlikely he'll be in Boston for the start of camp tomorrow even if a deal is reached.
