Preseason roster moves are weird. For example: the Bruins recalled some guys from Providence today who they sent down within the past week or so.
The team announced that Tommy Cross, Jordan Swarz and Jakub Zboril were recalled from Providence for tonight’s game in Chicago.
Chris Breen and Connor Clifton are also going to travel.
In all likelihood, these guys were added to the roster so the Bruins could fill out a full squad while resting regulars.
With names like Zdeno Chara, Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, David Backes, Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo missing from tonight’s lineup, the Bruins probably just needed bodies.
In any event, it would be nice to get another look at these guys before the regular season starts.
