It’s been quite a first season behind the bench for Jay Leach.
Named Providence Bruins head coach back in the summer, Leach has guided the P-Bruins to the best record in the AHL’s Atlantic Division (as of the end of December) and, as a result, will coach the Atlantic Division team at the AHL All-Star game in late January.
The P-Bruins currently sport a record of 21-8-3 under Leach’s direction, so the honor is well deserved.
Per the AHL, the format for the All-Star Game is as follows:
The teams will participate in a round-robin tournament featuring six games of 10 minutes each, played entirely at 3-on-3. The two teams with the best records at the end of the round-robin will face off for the championship, a six-minute game also played at 3-on-3.
The All-Star Game rosters will be announced later this week.
Congrats to Leach and to the P-Bruins on a hell of a start to the season.
