Highlights: Marchand wins it in the shootout as the Bruins beat Montreal, 4-3

Coming out of the bye week with a big-time win.

Boston Bruins v Montreal Canadiens

The Bruins, playing in the shadow of the Patriots’ playoff game in Foxboro, came out of the bye week and picked up where they left off, beating the Canadiens in Montreal by a score of 4-3.

To the highlights!

Max Pacioretty gets the Habs on the boards with a funky bounce early in the first. 1-0 Montreal.

Brad Marchand toasts Carey Price with a wrister on the PP to tie things up. 1-1 tie.

Jake DeBrusk doesn’t look like a rookie with this cool-as-a-cucumber finish on the breakaway, and the Bruins take the lead in the second. 2-1 Bruins.

Nicolas Deslauriers capitalizes on a turnover and ties the game at two. 2-2 tie.

It’s not usually a good idea to give Montreal power plays at home. Alex Galchenyuk makes the Bruins pay. 3-2 Montreal.

David Krejci sticks with it and ties the game. 3-3 tie.

Shortly after Krejci’s goal, Philip Danault took a Zdeno Chara shot to the head late in the second, but is reportedly OK. That can be seen here.

Torey Krug saves the Bruins’ bacon in OT.

The game headed to the shootout, where Jake DeBrusk and Brad Marchand both scored to end it (both highlights below). Bruins WIN, 4-3!
