The Edmonton Oilers got off to a fast start. The Bruins struggled to create offensive zone time, and Connor McDavid made them pay. He sped past Zdeno Chara like no one was there and put the puck past Halak for a 1-0 lead early.
Don’t worry. David Pastrnak is to the rescue. He made a phenomenal play to score a powerplay goal and tie the game at one.
The Bruins made the Oilers pay again with another powerplay goal by Brad Marchand this time.
Joakim Nordstrom then proved the haters wrong to extend the Bruins lead to 3-1.
The Bruins had a 3-1 lead after one period of play. The second period feature a couple of fights, but no goals.
The Oilers almost managed a goal with plenty of time left, but Zdeno Chara and a little luck were enough to prevent it.
The Bruins were able to hold off the Oilers and put away an empty net goal to win 4-1.
