The Coyotes score two goals in the first period. After four minutes of powerplay time for the Bruins early in the period, it was Arizona’s time to play with the man advantage. The newly acquire Nick Schmaltz made the Bruins pay to take a 1-0 lead.
The Coyotes struck again 40 seconds later. This time Nick Cousins got a wrist shot past Tuukka Rask.
The Bruins started the second period off strong, however, it took 8:40 for the Bruins to finally get on the board courtesy of Danton Heinen with a beautiful first NHL assist from Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson.
33 seconds later, David Pastrnak buried his 22nd of the season with help from Brad Marchand to tie the game.
Pastrnak and Marchand continued their prowess on their next shift to take a 3-2 lead.
For Brad Marchand, that wasn’t enough. He extended the Bruins lead to 4-2 on his next shift.
After a strange bounce off of John Moore’s stick, Michael Bunting put one past Tuukka Rask to cut the lead to 4-3 heading into the second intermission.
And that would be the final score. The Bruins have now won three straight.
