Know your Enemy:

  • Johnathan Huberdeau is your Panthers’ leading assist and point-getter of the Panthers with 22 and 28 respectively.
  • Leading goalscorer is currently split between two players; Evgenii Dadonov, and Mike Hoffman. They both have 12 goals.
  • Keith Yandle has 23 points and that’s crazy.
  • Frank Vatrano has 8 goals, two assists, and ten points. If he were on the Bruins, he’d be 4th on the team in goalscoring.

Well, last game was frustrating. Let’s try not to do that again!

The Panthers are coming off of yet another goal game loss on Saturday to the Tampa Bay Lightning. In fact, every game the Panthers have played within the last couple of weeks have been weird, one goal affairs where they either scrap out a win or give up too many goals to try and come back. It helps that, for all their flaws (and there are quite a few), their top six is genuinely very talented and while their depth is...uh...certainly there, they can still chain together some pretty decent scoring plays. But it is kinda hard to try and stay afloat when goalie injuries keep cropping up, and this season hasn’t given them any reprieve. No offense to James Reimer, but you don’t want to see him having more starts than Roberto Luongo when December rolls around. Bobby Lu has dealt with injuries all season, and hasn’t played since November 23, but there’s a chance he could see action tonight.

Boston meanwhile is still trying to figure out the best balance they can of their forward lines while Patrice Bergeron is out and slowly, ever so slowly, getting healthier as time goes on. While they still can muster 30+ shots on goal before 60 minutes are up, their quality chances have been hard to come by and even harder to cash in on. It’d be in their best interest to both get the lead early and keep it if they can.

It’s going to be a weird, weird game. Feels like the month in general is going to be weird and weirder still.

But still, should make for a fun time!
