Any weekend where you win two games in 24 hours is a good weekend.
To the highlights!
(Note: No Streamables tonight, so we’re going with NHL embeds. If you don’t see the videos, it’s because you’re on mobile. Click on the link on each score and it’ll take you to the NHL site.)
Some sloppy coverage leads to an Ottawa 2-on-1, and Colin White fed Mark Stone with a perfect pass. He didn’t miss. 1-0 Ottawa.
A bounce went the Bruins way in the second, as Brad Marchand found himself in the right place at the right time on the power play. 1-1 tie.
The Bruins had a chance to take the lead on a third period power play, but decided to give up a golden shorthanded chance instead. Luckily, Tuukka Rask was up to the task. 1-1 tie.
There would be no more scoring in regulation, so to OT we went — and David Krejci worked a little passing magic to set Torey Krug up for the winner. 2-1 Bruins.
That’s it! Bruins win, 2-1.
Notable:
- This was Torey Krug’s second goal in as many games.
- David Krejci continues to pile up points, with four in his last three games. He’s now up to 23 on the season.
- Poor Mike McKenna played one hell of a game, making 42 saves (including 14 in the third period). Truthfully, he probably deserved a better fate, but the Bruins were one shot better.
- Tuukka Rask made 27 saves.
The Bruins are back at it Tuesday at home against the Coyotes. See ya then!
